Van Til was one of seven candidates who took the 12 hour exam given on November 5 6 and the only one to achieve the required score of 85% overall. Van Til's professional experience includes both on- and off-premises retail beer sales and a stint as a brewpub brewer in addition to his work as a distributor rep. Van Til began participating in the Cicerone Certification Program when he took the Certified Beer Server exam in June 2008. He passed the Certified Cicerone Exam in November 2008.
