How difficult are the Cicerone exams?

Each certification level represents a substantial increase in depth, application, and sensory skill. Certified Beer Server evaluates essential fundamentals, while Certified Cicerone confirms professional knowledge and tasting competence. Advanced and Master Cicerone require extensive preparation, practical experience, precise communication, and highly developed sensory abilities. Passing scores range from 75% at Certified Beer Server to 85% at Master Cicerone.
