How many levels of Cicerone certification are there?

The Cicerone Certification Program offers four levels:

1. Certified Beer Server
2. Certified Cicerone®
3. Advanced Cicerone®
4. Master Cicerone®

What is the difference between a Certified Beer Server and a Certified Cicerone?

Certified Beer Server is the first level of the Cicerone Certification Program and confirms foundational knowledge of beer styles, flavor, storage, and service. Certified Cicerone is the second level and evaluates a much broader professional body of knowledge through written, tasting, and demonstration components. A person who has earned Certified Beer Server should use that complete title. The title “Cicerone” applies to those who have earned Certified Cicerone, Advanced Cicerone, or Master Cicerone.
