What is on the Certified Cicerone exam?
The Certified Cicerone exam includes written, tasting, and demonstration components. The written and tasting exams may be taken in either order. The written portion uses several question formats to assess professional knowledge across the complete syllabus. The tasting portion evaluates off-flavor identification, beer style discrimination, and beer quality assessment. The demonstration portion requires the candidate to explain or perform a beer service skill. A score of at least 80% overall and at least 70% on the tasting portion is required to pass.
