Patrick Gengler

I have worked for a craft beer retailer in the UK for over 2 years and in that time I have held many jobs. I started in the warehouse gaining intimate knowledge of the beers and the packing/shipping process. After which I became a personal shopper and the in-house beer 'guru.' It was in this role that I began writing about beer and it has been my favorite part of the job to this day. I have had several articles appear in the Beer Hawk journal as well as a few going to print for Beer Hawk's quarterly magazine and beer club-specific brochures. I have also written a number of beer descriptions citing specific flavors and aromas associated with each beer. I have equally enjoyed conducting tasting events and working behind the bar. Meeting new people and sharing stories of great beers and even greater times makes for a wonderful night. When writing articles, I prefer to write opinion pieces that contain historical facts to convey my opinion as well as educate the reader. I have a great love for 'fun facts' about everything but especially beer and I like someone to come away from an article I've written and use some of the information or knowledge they gained in their next conversation at a bar or pub.
