Cicerone for Companies

The Cicerone Certification Program helps you set your business apart by educating your staff on beer flavor, styles, and service. Benefits of training can include:

Getting Started

Everyone on your team who works with beer should become a Certified Beer Server. Candidates earn the tile by passing a 30-minute, 60-question online exam. You can choose among various options to prepare your employees for the Certified Beer Server exam. Your approach will depend on budget, learning timeline, and employee availability for training. You can monitor employee progress and exam scores online using managerial controls when you purchase in bulk. The two popular approaches to training are:

  1. BeerSavvy Online, self-paced individual training
  2. BeerSavvy On-Site, live group training at your business

Getting Your Staff to Certified Beer Server

BeerSavvy® Online features self-paced interactive readings, videos, and quizzes. Each time the employee opens the online program, they’ll be brought back to their last lesson screen to pick up where they left off. When they’re finished, they take the included Certified Beer Server exam. Each individual has 90 days from their first access to complete the course’s five to eight hours of training.

Beersavvy® On-Site features live instruction delivered by a Master Cicerone®. The one-day (eight-hour) course uses lecture, handouts, and tasting of both ingredients and beers. The host organization provides meeting space, audio/visual support, and beers for tastings. At the conclusion of the training, employees take the Certified Beer Server exam which is included in the cost of the training.
